CORTLAND, N.Y. (AP) — A New York man was arrested for his function in the Jan. 6 riot on the U.S. Capitol after he was noticed on surveillance video, authorities mentioned.
Richard Watrous, 59, was charged with coming into and remaining in a restricted constructing or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol constructing. His arrest was introduced Tuesday by Janeen DiGuiseppi, the pinnacle of the FBI’s Albany workplace.
According to charging paperwork filed Sept. 21, Watrous was seen on surveillance and eyewitness video carrying a pink “Trump” baseball hat as he entered the Capitol by means of the higher home door on Jan. 6.
