STOCKHOLM (Reuters) – Sweden will signal a defence cooperation settlement with Norway and Denmark this week to counter a deteriorating safety scenario within the Baltic area, Sweden’s TV4 stated on Thursday.
Sweden, which isn’t a member of NATO however enjoys shut ties with the bloc, is rebuilding its navy after many years of neglect on account of rising tensions with Russia within the Baltic area.
“If there’s a disaster scenario we can be significantly higher ready in that we’ll have coordinated our planning on this area,” Hultqvist instructed TV4.

He stated that the mixed assets of the three nations would assist deter a possible antagonist.

Sweden has boosted navy spending – together with agreeing to purchase Patriot missiles from the United States – and deepened its navy cooperation with NATO and neighbouring nations like Finland lately in response to heightened tensions with Russia.
