GENEVA (Reuters) – The United Nations’ rights chief lamented on Monday that efforts to acquire entry to China’s Xinjiang area to probe studies of severe violations in opposition to Muslim Uyghurs haven’t succeeded, including that she was finalising a report on the scenario.
“I remorse that I’m not ready to report progress on my efforts to search significant entry to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region,” Michelle Bachelet mentioned on the opening of the Human Rights Council on Monday in Geneva.
“In the meantime, my Office is finalising its evaluation of the out there data on allegations of severe human rights violations in that area, with a view to making it public.”
