NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — A Norfolk clerk shot and killed a person when he tried to rob a comfort retailer, in accordance to police, marking the third such incident in a Hampton Roads retailer in the final 4 years.
Norfolk police stated Javier Garcia, 28, died at a hospital, The Virginian-Pilot reported.
According to police, a retailer clerk shot Garcia when he tried to rob the 7-Eleven retailer on Sunday night time. Officers responding to the taking pictures late Sunday night time discovered Garcia affected by a life-threatening gunshot wound. The incident has been turned over to the Office of the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney.
The retailer was open on Monday, however the supervisor declined remark, citing firm coverage.
In 2017, a would-be robber was shot in the neck at a Virginia Beach 7-Eleven and and paralyzed. Two years later, a buyer shot two armed males trying to rob one other 7-Eleven in Virginia Beach retailer, killing one. The buyer, who had a hid carry allow, wasn’t charged in the shootings.
