L’ex id Software John romero confirmed in an interview with Bridgeburner that he was working on Sigil 2, mod for Doom II, followed by another mod released a few years ago. Evidently the experiment back then must have been successful enough to warrant a repeat.
According to Romero, it will take a while to play Sigil 2, which will only be compatible with Doom 2. If you remember, the first Sigil was a mod for Doom, considered by many to be an unofficial fifth installment of the game. What to expect? More or less what we saw in the first episode, that is, the new well-designed levels, in the style of the original ones. We will still see what will come of it.
Romero of his has always supported the community of mud, which he believes should be rewarded for their work. The original Dooms are still beloved on the scene due to their impeccable code and the relative ease with which you can pull off mods and total conversions, some of which are highly prized.
