GTA Vice City continues to be the subject of various experiments by unofficial developers, as this impressive demonstrates remaster total made on the new RAGE Engine by RevTeam, now complete although obviously not supported by Rockstar Games.
Titled Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 2, the project is actually one mod of total conversion on GTA 4 which in fact reconstructs Vice City within the graphics engine of the fourth chapter, or the RAGE Engine, thus returning the effect of a remaster of the original.
The contents of the game are those of Vice City in terms of missions, weapons, characters, enemies and situations, but everything is rebuilt within the graphics engine of GTA IV, so it is a truly mammoth job by RevTeam.
Despite starting with a mod, the project required numerous construction from scratch asset using the RAGE Engine, in order to recreate the setting of GTA Vice City which is profoundly different from that of the fourth installment of the series, being practically the Miami of the 70s instead of contemporary New York.
The project should be complete at this point, even if there is only one at the moment demo available, further updated, available on ModDB.com even if obviously its use involves risks. Furthermore, Rockstar Games has also proved quite inflexible in the past on reworkings of this type, so it is likely that this too will soon be eliminated from circulation.
In any case, you can see something about it in the teaser trailer and in the images shown on this page.
