In an age of endless warfare, he must forge a future for his kingdom as he clashes with the wills of formidable leaders like Jogaila and Vytautas the Great. Will the beloved Star of the Poles succeed in realizing his vision of a powerful and united Poland-Lithuania, or will the incessant whirlwind of war plunge both kingdoms into ruin once again? In this campaign, you will play as the Poles.
- Jan Zizka: Jan Zizka spent his youth as a mercenary fighting for honor and money, but his fate changed forever when he heard the sermons of the reformer Jan Hus in Prague. As champion of the Hussite cause and leader of its invincible armies, Zizka changed the war with technological and tactical innovations. Cement the legacy of one of history’s greatest generals by galvanizing simple peasants into highly disciplined units and leading them to triumph over the knightly armies of the Holy Roman Emperor. In this campaign, you will play as the Bohemians.
The two new ones civilization sono i Polacchi e i Boemi. In Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition – Dawn of the Dukes, i Poles they are a civilization based on the average cavalry, focusing everything on maneuverability, organization and sheer numbers. The unique unit of the Poles is the Obuch, a war hammer infantry unit capable of destroying enemy armor. They are perfect for fighting heavy units that would cause severe damage to the rear of Polish troops. In addition, the Poles share a unit with the Lithuanians: the Winged Hussar, an enhanced version of the light cavalry that replaces the Hussar upgrade possessed by many other civilizations. The Poles also have a unique building, the Folwark, which replaces the Mill and increases the efficiency of neighboring farms. Finally, they have two unique technologies: Szlachta Privileges and Lechitic Legacy, both of which power up cavalry units.
As for the Boemi, in Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition – Dawn of the Dukes, this civilization uses gunpowder and monks. The Bohemians lack brute power, but are capable of outsmarting and thwarting opponents. The first unique unit of the Bohemians is the Hussite Wagon, a kind of ancient tank. It has great firepower and is exceptional in protecting units placed inside. Then we have the Houfnice, a powerful upgrade to the Bombard Cannon: it’s perfect for destroying fortifications and enemy formations. Finally, the Bohemians have two unique technologies: Wagenburg Tactics and Hussite Reforms, the former upgrades units with gunpowder, while the latter upgrades monks and monasteries.
