Season 3 of Rocket League it will end on 11 August. With the advent of the new cycle of competitions, Psyonix has decided to introduce one of the most requested modes by fans of the game, namely the 2v2 tournaments. With Season 4, the developer plans to add more competitive tournaments every day, including 2v2 tournaments and extra modes!
2v2 tournaments will work just like 3v3 tournaments. Just enter a Competitive Tournament alone or with a teammate to join a group of 32 teams and attempt the climb to victory. With the addition of new tournaments to the daily program, Psyonix didn’t just want to replace existing 3v3 tournaments, but to expand the range of competitive competitions to be able to participate in. There will be between 8 and 13 additional tournaments per week in each region.
Expanding the number of tournaments each day means that there will be tournaments in extra mode. The extra featured mode can change daily, and rumble, hoops, snow day and dropshot variants will be available in rotation. Teams will participate in extra mode tournaments at their tournament level, but tournament rankings will not be affected by performance in extra mode tournaments. However, players will still receive tournament winner credits and titles from these tournaments.
Season 4 will also introduce one new UI which will show a log of competitive tournaments, including when you participated, how you finished and the rank of the tournament. Speaking of Rank, your Tournament Rank will now be displayed on the Tournament Home Screen.
The news did not end there. Psyonix will announce the next week a new car, the new Rocket Pass, the Arena and everything coming with Season 4.
